Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility specializing in intermediate medical and surgical overflow. This fast-paced unit manages various patient conditions including post-surgical, diabetic teaching, wound care, and others, with a focus on throughput from emergency and operating rooms. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to variable patient ratios and capable of responding to emergent situations.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and NIHSS certifications; 1 to 2 years of telemetry experience; certified in cardiac monitoring and emergency response; experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management; proficient in advanced IV therapies including insulin protocols, central line care, and blood product administration; experienced in wound care and infection control precautions; valid license or pending license accepted.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in endocrine/metabolic Titration of Insulin Drips, renal failure management, orthopedics including trauma and total joint replacements, surgical drains, and tracheostomy management; prior experience with Eye surgeries is preferred.
• Open to accommodations: Regular floating within scope across departments, units, and facilities as needed.
• Additional Information: Length of contract is from 10/19/2026 to 01/18/2027. The unit is a 24-bed intermediate care environment with interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. The position may require working holiday shifts and a maximum of 8 weekend shifts during a 6-week schedule period. No local candidates within 75 miles are accepted; travelers need both Kansas and Missouri licenses or a compact license in hand.
• Submissions: All documentation must be submitted by 11/02/2026, with compliance modules completed prior to start date.
