Senior ServiceNow Developer

Job Summary:

The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for the development, administration, and continuous enhancement of the ServiceNow platform within a large public-sector educational organization. This role involves hands-on configuration and maintenance of multiple ServiceNow modules to support district-wide business processes, ensuring scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions that align with operational priorities. Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary administrator for the ServiceNow instance, managing daily operations and maintenance.
• Configure and maintain ServiceNow applications, including forms, lists, workflows, notifications, and reporting.
• Develop and enhance multiple ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, HRSD, S2P, ITAM, and others.
• Design and manage Service Catalog items and workflows using Flow Designer, approvals, and task routing.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Coordinate with technology leadership for development, changes, and platform support.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, prioritizing configuration over customization and maintaining upgrade readiness.
• Troubleshoot platform issues, resolve defects, and support continuous process improvements.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including configuration details and user guidance.
• Partner with internal IT teams, vendors, and ServiceNow partners as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of hands-on ServiceNow administration experience, including instance ownership or co-ownership.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform components: forms, lists, tables, dictionary configuration, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, roles, ACLs, update sets, and platform administration.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for ServiceNow scripting.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITSM process knowledge.
• Experience working in public sector, K 12 education, or other highly regulated environments.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
• Experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, HRSD, S2P, CSM, or SecOps.
• Experience building or supporting system integrations using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and data imports.

• Absences greater than two weeks require prior approval and must provide contact information during absence.
