Job Description Posted Wednesday, May 27, 2026 | Expires Sunday, June 28, 2026 Lead Maintenance Technician – Conveyor Systems Location Orlando, Florida Compensation The hourly pay range for this position is $40.39 to $60.58 per hour . Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job‑related factors. Schedule Sunday through Wednesday: 2:00 pm to 12:30 am and on‑call as needed. Hours are subject to change depending on business needs. Employment Logistics The Lead Maintenance Technician supports safe and reliable operation of equipment and facilities by performing advanced preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, repairing conveyors and sortation equipment, and serving as the shift‑level technical lead. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; technical degree or trade school certificate preferred. Five years related experience in industrial maintenance, automated conveyor systems, or material handling equipment. Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Experience leading or supporting maintenance in 24/7 operations. Welding and fabrication experience required. Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Working knowledge of 480 V 3‑phase power, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, photo eyes, and HMIs. Knowledge of LOTO, OSHA requirements, PM programs, and safe electrical work practices. Ability to lift 60 pounds routinely. Flexible schedule and availability after hours when required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Responsibilities Lead day‑to‑day maintenance activities for conveyor and material handling systems to keep operations running safely. Serve as shift technical lead during breakdowns, assigning work and directing troubleshooting. Repair conveyor systems, shoe sorters, cross‑belt sorters, pneumatic distribution equipment, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, belts, and related controls. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on time and to standard. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, and pneumatic failures using schematics, meters, manuals, and PLC/HMI interfaces. Support startup, shutdown, equipment changeovers, and post‑repair validation. Lead root‑cause analysis on repeat failures and major breakdowns; implement corrective actions. Mentor and train maintenance technicians on safe practices, troubleshooting, PM procedures, and repair standards. Inspect machinery daily for wear, misalignment, damage, or unsafe conditions. Rebuild, align, adjust, and replace components such as bearings, pulleys, shafts, belts, rollers, chains, motors, and pneumatic devices. Perform light fabrication, welding, and repair work as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, and repair notes. Manage spare parts control, identifying critical parts needs and reporting shortages. Coordinate with Operations and other departments to prioritize work based on safety risk and operational impact. Support contractors and vendors during repairs, service calls, and improvement projects. Maintain housekeeping standards in maintenance areas, conveyor systems, and work zones. Respond after hours to support equipment operation as needed. Follow company safety policies and contribute to a safe work environment. Professional Experience & Skills Expertise in automated material handling systems, conveyor systems, and parcel sortation equipment. Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, electrical distribution, motor controls, and industrial sensors. Capable of troubleshooting mechanical and controls‑related faults, prioritizing breakdown response. Ability to work independently while leading and supporting other technicians. Good communicator with clear direction during equipment failures and recovery. Strong time‑management and organizational skills in fast‑paced environments. Experience with CMMS or work order systems. Experience in continuous improvement, failure elimination, and reliability practices. Industrial electrical experience and advanced PLC, GUI, HMI troubleshooting.
