Responsibilities The Environmental Service Associate assures patient physical comfort by providing fundamental patient care services within scope of responsibilities. They perform a wide variety of housekeeping and support functions for the patient care unit; stock linens and supplies; clean bathrooms, waiting areas, and common area space; and transport trash and linen from collection points to designated areas. The staff member must demonstrate the highest level of professionalism while maintaining a compassionate and pleasant manner to assure patient dignity, safety and satisfaction. Essential Functions Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas following established procedures and sanitation protocols, achieving satisfaction and quality standards for room and common area cleaning. Execute checkout room cleaning per department guidelines and dispose of hazardous and infectious waste in compliance with protocols. Perform morning and evening patient room rounds, inspect rooms, remove clutter, empty trash, and refresh bathrooms. Respond to patient service requests for housekeeping services and hospitality support. Clean common area space and waiting areas on the patient care unit. Stock linen and housekeeping supplies. Clean and sanitize equipment as assigned, stage equipment for pickup, and monitor corridors, keeping them free from clutter. Participate in patient safety rounding. Monitor patients for signs of distress and alert nursing personnel when intervention or clinical monitoring is required. Mix chemicals according to directions to achieve optimum cleaning without damaging surfaces, demonstrating proper dilution rates of all chemicals used and reporting malfunctions to the dilution system. Operate and perform preventive maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of any equipment used by the department. Maintain department cleaning equipment and housekeeping carts in good working order. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Other/Certificate – Less than High School (Required) High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) Experience Not specified. License and Certifications Driver’s License (DL) – Required for positions that will drive HonorHealth vehicles. Must be at least 21 years of age, hold a current and valid Arizona driver’s license, and have a clean driving record as defined by the HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy Q‑359. Must provide a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the Department of Motor Vehicles, review by Human Resources, and successfully complete the quarterly in‑house HonorHealth Defensive Driving Course with a certificate of completion (Preferred).
