Summary To assist and promote through positive customer service the donations of clothing and household items to Goodwill Keystone Area for resale in its store locations. Duties and Responsibilities Greets donors in a pleasant and professional manner and promotes Goodwill Keystone Area. Assists donors with donations, unloading from vehicles, issuing receipts, refusing items on the “thanks, but no thanks” list, and providing general information. Completes donor tracking paperwork accurately and submits it in a timely manner. Assists the transportation department with loading and unloading trucks, collecting and distributing materials, and removing trash and salvage from the store and production areas. Sterilizes appropriate items following all safety precautions. Prices hard goods as needed. Maintains a clean and orderly production and donor area as well as the outside donor area. Supports, promotes, and participates in organizational programs and special events. Promotes an environment of workplace safety, ensuring duties are performed safely and reported hazards are communicated to the Production Manager. Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Production Manager. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to speak, hear, read, and write. Ability to speak English to interact with donors and customers satisfactorily. Present a neat and positive appearance and demeanor. Good customer service skills. Can stand for extended periods. Can lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Can work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Possession of a forklift license or ability to become certified as a forklift operator (for powered industrial equipment operators only). Physical Requirements Push and pull various carts requiring a force of 50 pounds over 100 feet for 25% of the shift. Push and pull manual pallet jacks with gaylords or other material requiring a force of 60 pounds over 100 feet for 25% of the shift. Lift 50 pounds from ground level to waist level at least 80 times during a shift. Repeatedly bend forward or to the side up to 60 degrees to place items into carts and gaylords for 50% of the shift. Step up 24 inches onto forklifts or onto lift-fork slots of trash dumpsters up to 25% of the shift. Raise hands above the head to open trash dumpsters for 10% of the shift. Stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift. Meet visual and hearing acuity standards (with correction).
