Oregon Urology Institute provides patients with some of the region's finest medical experts covering every major urological specialty using proven and leading-edge technologies such as robotic surgery, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. General Summary:Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in both diagnostic studies therapeutic treatments. Creates and enhances diagnostic images using a variety of imaging equipment and tools. Collects biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation by physicians. Follows radiation safety guidelines and documents radiopharmaceutical usage for regulatory compliance. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area.Duties and Responsibilities:The Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adhere to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the RSO and/or the Radiologist. Specific duties may include but are not limited to the following:1.Complete patient education regarding the exam2.Promote comfort for the patient3.Perform PET/CT exams as ordered by authorized user4.Produce high quality images for the radiologist to evaluate5.Complete appropriate documentation6.Perform quality control functions related to PET/CT7.Assist in compilation and maintenance of statistical data8.Follow infection control and safety guidelinesMinimum Qualifications:1.Experience with PET/CT. Requires a certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the nuclear medicine technology certification board (NMTCB) and a state license to practice.2.Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have3.Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure4.Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients.5.Monitor and watch for any unusual reaction's patients may have to drugs6.Operate imaging equipment.7.Maintain detailed procedure records.8.Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures.9.Ability to use technology10.Analytical skills11.Compassion12.Detail - oriented13.Interpersonal skills14.Physical stamina15.Must show the ability to maintain confidentiality, including strict adherence to HIPAA and UCA Guidelines16.Prepare and assist with regulatory surveysPreferred Qualifications:1. A Nuclear Medicine/PET CT Technologist position requires a minimum of an associate degree in nuclear medicine, prefer individuals with a bachelor's degree.2.
