About the Position

Surgical Technologist / Scrub Tech

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | 40 Hours per Week Guaranteed

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into general surgery cases across up to 5 operating rooms and 1 endoscopy room, covering a broad range of surgical procedures excluding neurology, spinal, and cardiac cases.
• Select and handle surgical instruments including retractors, forceps, clamps, scissors, and needle holders based on planned use, tissue type and characteristics, and patient size.
• Determine and prepare specific equipment required per procedure prior to and during surgical cases.
• Float between affiliated facilities as prescheduled when needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation, including one night of call per week and one weekend every fourth weekend, with a required call-back response within 20 minutes.
• Maintain strong and accurate documentation throughout all surgical cases using Epic.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of surgical technologist experience.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to respond to call-back within 20 minutes when on call.
• Compliance with facility masking policy during flu season if declining flu or COVID vaccination.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, though not required.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work resiliently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate effectively with surgical teams.
• Experience floating across multiple surgical facilities or departments.
