CEI Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead the technical delivery of complex engineering and infrastructure projects from concept through completion. This role will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design activities, managing engineering interfaces, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved scope, programme, budget, and quality standards. You will act as a key technical point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, providing clear guidance and resolving issues throughout the project lifecycle.


Key responsibilities will include reviewing and approving design documentation, specifications, technical reports, calculations, and construction methodologies; managing design changes, risks, and technical queries; monitoring progress against milestones; and supporting cost and programme control. You will lead technical meetings, coordinate input from specialist disciplines, oversee design reviews, and ensure that engineering solutions comply with relevant legislation, standards, codes, and contract requirements. The role will also involve supporting procurement and tender activities, contributing to project reporting, conducting site inspections, and helping to identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering, and improved project performance. A strong focus on health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality assurance is essential.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, or another relevant engineering discipline, together with substantial experience delivering major projects in an engineering, construction, or infrastructure environment. Professional registration or chartered status is desirable, as is experience working under recognised contract forms and within multidisciplinary project teams. You will need excellent technical, organisational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to make sound decisions, manage competing priorities, and influence outcomes at all levels. Commercial awareness, strong reporting abilities, and proficiency with relevant engineering, project management, and document-control systems are also expected. A proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to delivering high-quality results are essential.
