Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable & Credit

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This position will primarily focus on daily cash receipts processing, accounts receivable, customer credit management, and collections. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Process and accurately apply daily customer payments, including ACH, credit cards, checks, and other cash receipts.

· Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and customer account issues.

· Review and maintain customer credit limits and assist with credit decisions.

· Work closely with Sales to resolve customer issues while appropriately managing credit risk.

· Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances.

· Prepare and distribute customer statements.

· Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate financial records.

· Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding payments, balances, and credit matters.

· Support month-end AR reconciliation and identify opportunities to improve credit and AR processes.

· Assist with additional accounting activities as needed.

Qualifications

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or a similar accounting role required.

· Experience with commercial credit and collections preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software.

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Compensation: $55,000–$70,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
