We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized law firm with an established litigation practice in Jackson, Mississippi. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who wants substantive litigation experience, direct involvement in complex matters, and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships while working alongside a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional legal writing skills, strong academic credentials, and a commitment to delivering practical solutions for long-standing clients across a diverse range of industries.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Manage written discovery, including drafting requests, responses, and objections.
• Develop litigation strategies and contribute to practical solutions for complex legal matters.
• Assist with depositions, witness preparation, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Support litigation matters through all phases of the legal process.
• Prepare and review court filings in state and federal courts.
• Draft client correspondence, legal opinions, and case summaries.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys, legal support staff, and clients to deliver exceptional service.
• Manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
• Build trusted relationships with clients through responsive, professional legal counsel.

 

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Mississippi or ability to obtain licensure promptly.
• 3+ years of litigation experience preferred.
• Top 10–15% academic standing required.
• Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.
• Strong verbal communication and professional presence.
• Experience drafting motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Motivated, proactive approach with a genuine interest in litigation practice.

 

Compensation

• $135,000–150,000, depending on experience.
