Professional Carpet Cleaning TechnicianPuroClean of Greater Landover is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Professional Carpet Cleaning Technician to join our growing cleaning and property restoration team. This position is for someone who understands carpet fibers, textures, cleaning chemistry, stain treatment, extraction methods, equipment setup, and proper drying procedures. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing professional results, protecting customers' property, maintaining equipment, and representing PuroClean professionally in residential, commercial, property-management, and government environments.Responsibilities include performing professional carpet cleaning in residential and commercial properties, inspecting carpets before cleaning, recognizing carpet conditions that may require special treatment, pre-vacuuming, preconditioning, agitating, extracting, rinsing, spot-treating, grooming, and properly drying carpet as needed. The technician will operate portable extractors, carpet wands, rotary equipment, CRB machines, upholstery tools, wet vacuums, air movers, and related professional cleaning equipment. Proper mixing and application of cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions, understanding basic pH principles, identifying and treating common stains, and avoiding over-wetting, fiber damage, dye bleeding, browning, shrinkage, and other preventable cleaning problems are also required.Qualifications include 1–2 years of professional carpet-cleaning experience preferred, hands-on experience with professional carpet-cleaning and extraction equipment, knowledge of carpet fibers, textures, cleaning methods, stains, and cleaning chemicals, ability to determine when a carpet or textile requires special treatment, ability to operate equipment safely and troubleshoot basic equipment issues, strong attention to detail, good customer service and communication skills, dependable attendance, ability to work independently as well as with a team, ability to follow written work orders and verbal instructions, professional appearance and attitude, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for positions requiring operation of a company vehicle, and ability to pass employment screening required for the position and applicable customer or contract sites.Physical requirements include lifting and carrying approximately 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, reaching, pulling, pushing, and standing for extended periods, carrying equipment up and down stairs, handling hoses and professional cleaning equipment, working in occupied and unoccupied residential and commercial properties, and safely using required PPE and cleaning products. Schedule requirements will depend on customer and project needs and may include early-morning assignments, evening or night work, weekend work, commercial projects outside normal business hours, and emergency or restoration-related assignments.Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with experienced candidates earning $18.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on professional carpet-cleaning experience, equipment knowledge, certifications, driving qualifications, and ability to independently complete jobs.
