For more information about Draper, visit Description Summary:The Strategic Programs Cybersecurity Analyst internship role is responsible for supporting the planning, designing, testing, implementing, and maintaining the cyber security solutions for the information systems and networks supporting a critical national defense program at Draper. This role requires an understanding of the requirements for processing Controlled Unclassified Information and, in some cases, classified information, mission priorities and goals, as well as an understanding of current and emerging technologies to support strategic planning and technical expertise relative to all aspects of the cyber security program. The optimal candidate for this role has the ability to collaborate with multifaceted and dynamic teams.Responsibilities:Support and advise on technical strategic planning and implementation of current and future cyber security solutions for test and support infrastructure within the Strategic Systems Program DirectorateAbility to effectively communicate and collaborate with SMEs from Classified Operations, Program Protection, the user community, and government representatives to provide strategy and guidance relative to technical security solutionsCollaborate with cross organizational teams in supporting team members with the design, development, prototyping, evaluation, and trade study analysis for cyber security tools and servicesEvaluate and suggest improvements for system security through all phases of design, implementation and operationJob Description:Duties/ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and enhancement engineering solutions for challenging problems.Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support.Generate and present test reports including plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions from data collected and analyzed throughout the test process.Complete assignments designed to develop a practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, and systems as well as their interrelationships within engineering disciplines.Performs other duties as assigned.Program RequirementsEnrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program required.There is flexibility regarding hours and program duration based on applicant’s school schedule and availability.Skills/AbilitiesExcellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent work ethic with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.Ability to adapt to ever-changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities.Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.Additional Job Description:Basic Qualifications:Educational path or equivalent experience with focus in system design and integration including requirements analysis, gap analysis, security analysis, and developing security architectures and solutions for new or existing computer systems and networksUnderstanding of current cyber security tactics, techniques and procedures used within the Defense Industrial Base for isolated and connected systemsEducational path or equivalent experience with risk-based security engineering and threat modelingKnowledge of Zero Trust Architecture concepts and objectivesProven effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)Required Qualifications:A candidate must have an educational path focusing on Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline in one of these fieldsFamiliarity and facility with the following cybersecurity topics: security architecture and design, cloud computing security architecture, cyber security digital forensics, vulnerability and remediation management, incident handling and response, and/or system development lifecycle management.Candidate should be capable of collaborating with internal team members as well as participating in a larger team.Educational focus in supporting IT or cybersecurity in heavily regulated or compliance-focused environments, particularly the Defense Industrial BaseSecurity Requirements:Applicants selected for this position may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.Connect With Draper for Future Opportunities! Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
