JOB SUMMARY

Leads and assists in the collection of fees at Horseshoe Bend. Coordinates the activities of cashiers, as well as works with the Horseshoe Bend Manager to ensure the needs of the facility and cashiers are addressed. Responsible for worker compliance with regulations and ensures proper procedures are being adhered to while setting a good example at all times particularly in regard to customer priorities and cash handling procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responds to the immediate needs and duties of the Horseshoe Bend facility, as requested by the Horseshoe Bend manager and/or director, both in the presence and absence of management.
• Ensures all visitors are being serviced in a timely manner.
• Reacts to emergency situations in a calm, collected manner while coordinating the necessary emergency procedures & protocol.
• Sets a good example to other employees at all times, including reduction of tardiness, good verbal communication, servicing guests, and working as a team.
• Resolves guest issues and provides guidance to other employees in handling difficult, complex, or escalated complaints or problems.
• Aids the manager with schedule conflicts.
• Assists the manager with reports, as needed.
• Accurately processes all cash or credit card payments for parking charges that includes collecting payments for parking, reconciling the balances, and performing opening/closing duties, as aligned with all Horseshoe Bend cashiers.
• Keeps apprised of supply inventories and informs manager of needed items for purchasing or ordering.
• Assists with the training of new employees on the proper procedures in the department, as directed by manager.
• Relays any pertinent information or problems to the correct person(s), including the manager, director, maintenance worker, public works department or others.
• Encourages and communicates effectively with all Horseshoe Bend employees.
• Provides for fair and timely distribution of extra duties to all staff, including oneself, regarding trash duty, cleaning, parking lot duty, and other duties necessary to daily operations of the Horseshoe Bend establishment.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED; and
• Three (3) years of cash handling experience
• Four (4) years of guest service experience

Licenses or Certifications:

• Must possess a valid State driver license upon employment.

Special Requirements:

• Knowledge of the Page/Lake Powell/Grand Circle area.
• Flexible schedule – operation is dawn to dusk, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
• Ability to pass and become certificated in CPR/1st Aid/AED and fire training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of the methods, equipment and materials used in the collection of fees and reconciling monies collected.
• Skill in using good judgment in receiving and responding to public information inquiries and complaints.
• Ability to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills in the English language.
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments.
• Ability to exercise & implement a manner of confidentiality in regard to important issues, problems and staff-related matters.
• Ability to work in a small confined space and outdoors in extreme temperatures.
• Skill in using general office equipment including computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Ability to plan and organize extra work around other obligatory duties.
• Ability to demonstrate good teamwork with coworkers.
• Ability to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills in the English language is a must.
• Ability to read and interpret basic policy, equipment and plan document instructions with acceptable comprehension levels to perform steps described in written materials.
• Ability to provide clear, detailed written and/or verbal information in a professional manner to management and/or other employees.
• Ability to establish and maintain supervisory relationship with subordinates.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, stooping, and talking, visual acuity and walking. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
