Youth Development Manager, Alpha - $200,000/year USD

What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one-hour interactive life skills and social-emotional learning (SEL) sessions with K-8 students using Alpha's defined framework. Conducting daily motivational check-ins to help 100% of students reach their weekly application targets, using age-suitable incentives including school currency and performance leaderboards. Developing Guides through direct observation, specific feedback, and practical coaching so they deliver sessions with energy and accuracy comparable to yours. Analyzing Coachbot data and student records to identify students needing support, then providing direct intervention. Mentoring your assigned student cohort, demonstrating coaching and motivational techniques required from all Guides. What You Won’t Be Doing Creating lesson plans or building curriculum. Students progress via adaptive apps; your responsibility is to help the people supporting them excel. Delivering traditional classroom lectures. You are 80% entertainer, 20% content expert; if standing at a whiteboard appeals to you, this role isn’t the right fit. Compromising standards due to pressure from parents or school leadership. When a student achieves 99%, the response is "not yet" and you’ll have full support to maintain that standard. Spending time in an office processing administrative documents. The majority of your day involves direct interaction with students and Guides. Waiting extended periods for performance feedback. Outcomes are visible in real-time through Coachbot and adjustments occur immediately. Basic Requirements Currently residing in or prepared to relocate to Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Miami, FL; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA (relocation assistance available). Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred; conventional teaching certifications are not sought). Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, or a comparable field. Demonstrated experience creating and executing educational programs, curricula, or training initiatives. Proven history of managing a team of 5 or more individuals, including responsibility for hiring and performance-related termination decisions. Established experience coaching, mentoring, or delivering constructive feedback to enhance engagement and performance. Direct experience working with children ages 5–14 in educational or developmental contexts. Competency using data and performance metrics to inform decisions and support ongoing improvement. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Nice-to-have Requirements Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Business. Experience as an athletic coach, camp director, or youth program coordinator where you directly motivated children to achieve quantifiable goals. Background coaching adults in positions where performance was monitored and evaluated. Confidence performing before large groups of children and the presence to command attention in a room full of 8-year-olds.
