Forward Deployed Engineer, U.S. Government

Design, build, and operate agentic AI systems that move from prototype to production in high-assurance U.S. Government settings, including forward-deployed work with government partners. This role blends model experimentation, infrastructure development, data pipelines, and operational deployment to deliver mission-critical autonomy and tooling.

• Build and deploy agentic AI systems to support high-impact U.S. Government missions, from prototype through production.
• Design and integrate LLM applications, including multi-agent systems, tool-using agents, retrieval-augmented generation workflows, and human-in-the-loop autonomy.
• Work directly with government partners in forward-deployed environments to translate mission needs into technical systems and ensure mission success.
• Build and maintain large-scale data curation and evaluation pipelines for model training and continuous improvement.
• Develop infrastructure for model inference, experimentation, evaluation, and deployment across frontier AI platforms.
• Turn mission data, models, and tools into operational autonomy and mission-ready systems.
• Own systems across the full lifecycle, including discovery, architecture, implementation, deployment, reliability, security, and iteration.

• Required skills: Python, large language models, systems engineering, data pipelines, distributed systems.
• Proven Python engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of systems in production.
• Experience with LLMs and building agentic systems, including multi-agent coordination and tool use.
• Experience building or maintaining ML infrastructure and large-scale data pipelines.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning workflows or simulation environments is preferred.
• Comfortable operating in high-security, high-reliability environments and in ambiguous, partner-facing settings with technical and operational ownership.
• Ability to operate independently and translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
• Preferred experience supporting U.S. Government, defense, intelligence, or national security missions, or prior roles at startups, defense organizations, a Department of War, or government-focused technology companies.

• Employment type: Full-time.
• Location: Hybrid, Washington, D.C., with forward-deployed partner engagements and on-site work as required by mission needs.

• Base compensation range: $200, 000 to $350, 000 yearly.
• All employees are eligible for equity compensation. Employees may also receive performance-based bonuses, subject to role and company policy.
