Status: Full Time Shift: 12 Hour Nights C-3 Medical Telemetry Opportunities Our C-3 Medical Telemetry is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. It is designed for nurses who want to increase their knowledge base in a supportive, mentoring environment. Patient Population "The patient population on our acute care floor can be diverse, encompassing individuals of different ages, genders, cultures, and medical conditions. Typically, patients on this floor require immediate medical attention due to severe illnesses, injuries, or surgical procedures. This may include patients with acute respiratory distress, cardiac emergencies, infections, traumatic injuries, or complications from chronic conditions. In general, the patient population in this department is characterized by a need for medical care and monitoring to stabilize and treat their conditions." Patient Population on Isolation It may vary widely depending on the reason for isolation. Isolation precautions are put in place to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, MRSA, or C. difficile, among others. Patients who are in isolation may have a variety of conditions, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, or skin infections. It is expected to care for patients who are on isolation precautions, following specific protocols to prevent the spread of disease. Patient Ratios 1:4 Number of Beds 14 Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, you will oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. You will secure patient travel, know about patient needs in healthcare, help patients and prevent issues, follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act, and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Essential Functions Of The Role Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism as vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Develop care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues. Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members, empowering them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. Collaborate with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly. Use different strategies for problem‑solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations, prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery. Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth, contribute to peers' development, and demonstrate community service commitment. Key Success Factors A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understanding hospital procedures and rules. Proficiency in medical terms, including health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects. Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights. Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
