Position: Instructional Assistant- Special Education (180 days and 28.75 hours) Location: North Putnam High School Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED
- Candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
- Assists the teacher in non-instructional functions related to providing the instructional program
- Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units
- Assists students with classroom assignments
- Works with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up instruction
- Maintains discipline in the absence of the teacher
- Supervises students during recess, lunch, and breaks
- Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
- Maintains professional appearance and behavior while on duty
- Maintains regular and prompt attendance
- Takes in-service training as directed
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
- Promotes good public relations for the school district and community
