Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NRP - Advanced AWHONN Must-Have: - At least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience - Strong in emergency situations and able to work independently Description: Seeking Registered Nurses in the Labor and Delivery specialty. The position requires caring for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The unit includes 4 labor and delivery rooms and 8 mother-baby rooms. Expected patient ratios are 1:2 in labor and delivery and 1:4 for couplets. There is an average of 45 deliveries per month. The facility does not handle high-risk deliveries. Mothers less than 34 weeks will be transferred to another facility. Newborns may require IV antibiotics or short-term oxygen. Minimum certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced AWHONN. Experience in active deliveries and general gynecology is essential. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend and rotating holidays. Shifts are scheduled for 1845 to 0715. Schedules are posted six weeks in advance and cannot be self-scheduled. There is no floating to other units, and nurses will focus solely on labor and delivery or mother-baby care. The ideal candidate must be proficient and calm in emergency situations, particularly during night shifts when resources are limited. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. The charting system used is Cerner. A strong ability to work independently is required in this setting.
