Job Description

The Laboratory Technician supports residential roofing product development and testing by operating shingle prototype equipment, conducting laboratory and pilot-line testing, assembling and modifying process equipment prototypes, and troubleshooting manufacturing and testing systems. Responsibilities include preparing raw materials, operating testing equipment, documenting results in LIMS, performing hazard assessments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.

Education

• Associate's Degree required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred

Required Skills

• R&D, product testing, quality control, or quality assurance experience
• Experience working with laboratory testing equipment
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on use of hand tools (sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers)
• Troubleshooting experience in laboratory and manufacturing environments
• LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) data entry and documentation
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to operate and support pilot-line or process equipment
• Experience assembling and modifying equipment prototypes
• Forklift experience (minimum 2 years)

Preferred Skills

• ASTM testing experience
• Forklift certification or advanced material handling experience
• Experience supporting process development or manufacturing improvement projects
