Job Description: - Location: Main Campus - Unit Name: D2 - Unit Type: Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit (Cost Center: 64812) - Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM Unit Specifics: - Scrub Color: Navy Blue/White or a combination of both - Number of Beds: 40 - Patient Ratios: 1:5 Step-Down / 1:6 MedSurg; 1:5 if combined - Staffing Goal: Free charge and typically 1-2 CNAs based on volume - Equipment: Baxter IV pumps - Documentation System: Cerner - Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend, assist with holidays, no call - Floating Policy: Expected to float to other units within skill set - Patient Experience: Prioritizing patient safety and care above all Hiring Profile: - Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years recent MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) level experience - Mindset: Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork for fast-paced, quick-turnover environments - Unit Goal: Enhance throughput and facilitate ED decompression - Role: Admission Assessments, Medication Reconciliation, initiate acute care orders - Skill Set: Well-rounded background to manage diverse patient diagnoses - Advanced Skills: Charge Nurse experience or willingness to learn appreciated - Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Dress Code: - Required uniform: Navy Blue/White or a combination of both (no t-shirts) - Appropriate navy or white jacket/sweater permitted if needed Additional Perks: - Opportunity for extensions — many travel nurses have been with us for several years - Float to other units as needed with additional opportunities in CMU Telemetry Unit and as ED Transporters - Engage with telemetry patients and ensure their safety in a supportive environment - Work collaboratively to assist with moving higher acuity patients from the ED to specialized inpatient units Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
