About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Stepdown or progressive care experience Telemetry experience Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications Description: Unit Information: Number of Beds: 40 Type of Staff: 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 Patient Care Technicians, 1 Unit Secretary on day shift 1 Charge Nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians on night shift Patient Ratios: 1:4, stretch staffing at 1:5 ratio Type of Patients: Patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post-cardiac catheterization/stent, post-pacemaker/ICD/ablation Type of Equipment: Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, bladder scanner, EMR system Skill Set Most Recruited For: Candidates without these skills will not be considered. Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, bumetanide/Lasix Preferred or Nice to Have: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) Relief charge experience Typical Procedures Performed on Unit: Bedside cardioversion Best Personality Fit: Flexible, positive attitude, great team player, compassionate Floating Areas: All MedSurg units, stepdown units, COVID unit, and ER holding Dress Code: Scrub color/attire - all white or all navy blue or white top and navy blue pants Weekends: Every other weekend
