Surveyor - Grade I

Surveyor - Grade I We are looking for a Surveyor Grade I to join our Survey and Positioning Team in Houston, Texas. The Surveyor Grade I is responsible for implementing and maintaining survey standards during offshore operations. Duties include setting up and operating survey equipment, logging, quality control, and backing up data. The Surveyor will work unsupervised under the Senior Surveyor or Party Chief. Tasks and Responsibilities Set up and test online navigation and data logging systems Run daily operation of online systems Maintain survey quality records (daily logbook) Take care of health and safety for self and others; protect environment Participate in hazard identification and risk assessment as required by Offshore Manager Understand calibration process of survey sensors Perform quality control of positioning systems/sensors and logged data Ensure data gathered complies with contractual and company specifications Identify data that does not meet acceptance criteria Know emergency procedures and drills Cooperate with supervisors and managers regarding health, safety, and environmental matters Minimum Qualifications Degree in Surveying/Geomatics or equivalent 12 months experience, including 120 operational days offshore as a Surveyor Grade II Appropriate offshore medical and offshore survival certificates Work Environment and Physical Demands Works approximately 10% in an office environment using standard office equipment Spends time sitting in aircraft for national/international travel (1–12 hours) Spends about 80% of time in offshore environment and offsite contractor locations; moderate exposure to noise and machinery Might need to stand, walk, sit, reach; use hands; balance; kneel; talk; hear Might occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs Requires near and far vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus Shift work week offshore is 84 hours (7 days a week, 12-hour shifts) Additional Requirements Successful candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening and must pass an offshore OGUK physical.
