MRI Technologist Nights

An MRI Technologist, also known as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist, operates and maintains MRI scanners to produce images of the body for diagnosis and treatment. They prepare patients for scans, monitor them during the procedure, and ensure the safety and quality of the images. MRI technologists work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging results.

Position Summary and Purpose: The MRI Technologist operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The MRI Technologist maintains knowledge and awareness of high magnetic field strength safety. The MRI Technologist will prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure as well as state and federal regulations. The employee obtains patient history and screening forms, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Responsible for maintaining patient record and files and performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance scanner, as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologist's expectations and protocols
• Ensures compliance with the National Patient Safety goals
• Supports and reports any identified compliance matters
• Participates in hospital and department quality assurance programs to ensure safety and satisfaction
• Uses standard precautions, including PPE, at all time
• Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently

• Maintains professional development and education for technical competency
• Maintains regulatory compliance and licensure for current position
• Attends all facilitator's required educational programs and completes all KNOW modules
• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Educational, certification and/or licensure requirements; ARRT (MR), Kentucky State Radiation License and BLS. Average number of patients cared for daily in unit; Equipment: Siemens Sola. EMR: Cerner.
