About the Role

I'm Diego, Founder and Brand Director of Gaui, a Miami-based fashion brand, and I'm looking for an experienced Head of Business Operations to work alongside me as we continue building and growing the company.

While I focus on the creative direction and development of the brand, I'm looking for someone who can complement my strengths with operational structure, financial discipline, and data-driven decision-making.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience , including direct experience within a DTC brand, preferably in fashion or beauty. Experience across both established organizations and smaller, growing businesses is particularly valuable.

We're currently a team of 10, so this is a hands-on leadership position requiring direct involvement rather than traditional executive oversight. I'm looking for someone independent, resourceful, and capable of taking ownership of P&L, cash flow, budgets, team accountability, and daily operations.

Above all, I'm looking for a true operational counterpart. Someone who brings sound business judgment, takes initiative, follows through, and genuinely enjoys building a business.

Applicants must be based in Miami, FL , as this is an in-person position at our Doral office.

Responsibilities

Business Operations + Management

• Oversee daily operations across inventory, logistics, fulfillment, customer service, finance, and internal workflows.
• Work directly with the Founder to establish priorities, execute company objectives, and support sustainable growth.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures, internal systems, and organizational standards.
• Manage operational resources, vendor relationships, service providers, and contract negotiations.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication between finance, marketing, e-commerce, product, and fulfillment teams.
• Identify operational challenges, implement solutions, and support business planning.

Financial Oversight + Budget Management

• Oversee company budgets, departmental spending, operating expenses, and financial performance.
• Monitor P&L, cash flow, financial commitments, and upcoming payment obligations.
• Review recurring expenses, invoices, subscriptions, and operational expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Establish financial reporting systems that provide clear visibility into revenue, profitability, expenses, and cash requirements.
• Support financial forecasting, cash flow planning, and the prioritization of financial obligations.
• Manage purchasing approvals, expense controls, and financial accountability across departments.

Team Management + Human Resources

• Lead a small, cross-functional team, establishing clear responsibilities, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Manage employee schedules, attendance, time-off requests, and internal calendars.
• Oversee payroll coordination, timesheets, approvals, and employee-related administrative processes.
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance evaluations, and employee transitions.
• Conduct team meetings and individual check-ins, ensuring accountability for deadlines and commitments.
• Address personnel matters professionally while maintaining organized employee records and HR procedures.

Fulfillment + Inventory + Logistics

• Oversee warehouse operations, fulfillment, inventory management, returns, and shipping performance.
• Coordinate incoming shipments, receiving schedules, stock movements, and logistics partners.
• Monitor inventory accuracy, order processing, fulfillment costs, and warehouse productivity.
• Establish operational KPIs and implement improvements that reduce errors, delays, and unnecessary expenses.
• Ensure warehouse organization, safety, and operational standards are maintained.

Planning + Calendars + Internal Communication

• Own the company's master operational calendar, including meetings, product launches, deadlines, and key business activities.
• Coordinate departmental schedules and operational readiness for launches, campaigns, and company initiatives.
• Organize weekly operational meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and follow up on action items.
• Maintain visibility into ongoing projects, team responsibilities, and upcoming commitments.
• Anticipate scheduling conflicts, operational bottlenecks, and potential delays before they impact execution.

Qualifications + Skills

• 7+ years of experience in business operations, operations management, general management, or a related leadership position.
• Direct experience within a DTC brand is required , preferably in fashion, apparel, or beauty.
• Experience across both established organizations and smaller, resource-conscious businesses is highly valued.
• Strong financial understanding, including P&L management, cash flow, budgeting, cost analysis, and expense controls.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and overseeing day-to-day operations.
• Experience developing operational systems, SOPs, reporting structures, and performance indicators.
• Working knowledge of inventory management, logistics, fulfillment, and customer service operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions, manage competing priorities, and hold teams accountable.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, financial reporting tools, and e-commerce platforms. Shopify experience is highly valued.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Schedule + Work Environment

This is a full-time, hands-on position based in Doral, FL , with an in-office schedule Monday through Friday. We're currently testing hybrid Mondays.

As my right hand in running the business, I'm looking for someone who understands that this level of responsibility can extend beyond traditional office hours, with flexibility for occasional Saturdays and availability as business needs arise.
