Structural BIM Modeler / Structural CAD Designer Type: Contract Duration: 4 Months Location: Remote / US-Based Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Structural BIM Modeler / Structural CAD Designer to support a contract engagement focused on developing detailed 2D and 3D technical models and construction documentation for structural systems. This individual will create accurate representations of structural components, reinforced concrete assemblies, reinforcement layouts, connections, and embedded systems using industry-standard CAD and BIM software. The ideal candidate has a strong background supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial projects and is comfortable translating complex engineering specifications into highly detailed technical deliverables. Key Responsibilities Create detailed 3D models of structural systems and reinforced concrete assemblies. Develop construction drawings, reinforcement layouts, fabrication details, and shop drawings. Translate engineering specifications, concepts, and hand sketches into accurate 2D and 3D models. Coordinate models across engineering, architectural, manufacturing, and construction teams. Ensure models and documentation comply with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards. Generate material schedules, quantity takeoffs, and other technical documentation. Support constructability reviews and multidisciplinary clash detection activities. Produce high-quality technical renderings and visualizations for presentations, documentation, and installation materials. Maintain model accuracy, documentation, and version control throughout the design and project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate feedback and resolve technical design challenges. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience creating technical visualizations, 3D models, engineering illustrations, or CAD/BIM deliverables. Experience supporting projects within construction, engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or related industries. Proven experience creating structural assemblies, reinforced concrete models, and shop or fabrication drawings. Strong understanding of construction documentation, constructability, material schedules, and coordination workflows. Experience with model coordination and clash detection. Ability to interpret complex engineering specifications and translate them into detailed technical deliverables. Strong attention to detail, dimensional accuracy, and design standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Technical Skills Experience with one or more of the following: Autodesk Revit AutoCAD Tekla Structures Civil 3D Navisworks SolidWorks Bentley OpenBuildings / OpenBridge Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Design, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
