Underwriting Audit Manager

Underwriting Quality Manager – Commercial Casualty and Programs Responsibilities Determine adherence to the AIG Underwriting Control Framework, including underwriting authority, guidelines, procedures, and policies related to Commercial Casualty and Programs across all legal entities. Review underwriting quality, pricing compliance, portfolio management utilization, and management controls; provide senior management with commentary on overall underwriting performance, growth plans, and control improvements. Leverage underwriting audits to assess operational capability in line with product strategic business plans. Conduct annual audits across all legal entities/portfolios, including pre‑audit work, audit tool usage, and wrap‑up meetings. Discuss critical findings and recommendations with Audited Entity, Country, Regional, and Global Product teams; prepare reports and vet action plans. Support the Global Head of Underwriting Audit with local industry knowledge and training initiatives. Assist the Global Product team on project initiatives from time to time. Qualifications 5+ years of experience at a P&C carrier of significant market size, with management positions in underwriting and P&L responsibility strongly preferred. Audit or actuarial experience is a strong plus. 5+ years’ experience within a P&C product organization, including underwriting a full range of products and placing facultative reinsurance. Demonstrated management controls, portfolio management tools usage, and working knowledge of diverse distribution channels. Experience working across multiple regions/countries. Ability to convey strategy of Global Home Office, Underwriting Audit, and Underwriting Governance to regional and country staff. Excellent knowledge of product line underwriting guidelines, risk appetite, tools, processes, management controls, and pricing methodologies; ability to train others on this knowledge. Working knowledge of regulator requirements and the actuarial function (reserving, DAC accounting, statistical rating, and rate reviews). Strong communication and analytical skills. Compensation For positions based in New Jersey, the base salary range is $96,000 - $113,000 . For positions based in Chicago, the base salary range is $104,000 - $114,000 . The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
