You'll lead residential installation projects from start to finish, guide apprentices and helpers, and work with our sales, warehouse, service, and operations teams to keep jobs moving smoothly.If you're looking for steady work, strong operational support, and a compensation structure designed to reward skilled installers, Guy Smith Home Services may be the right place for your next move.What You'll DoLead residential HVAC replacement and installation projects from start to finish.Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, thermostats, and indoor air quality equipment.Complete ductwork modifications, refrigerant piping, condensate drainage, venting, gas piping, wiring, and system connections.Direct, train, and support apprentices and installation helpers.Review job details and identify equipment, material, or scope concerns before and during installation.Perform equipment startups, charging, airflow verification, system testing, and commissioning.Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure work meets manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and company standards.Protect customers' homes and maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.Explain system operation, maintenance expectations, and warranty information to homeowners.Complete accurate job documentation, equipment records, and required photos.Coordinate with sales, service, dispatch, warehouse, and leadership teams.Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, materials, and inventory.What We're Looking ForPrevious experience leading residential HVAC replacement and installation projects.Ability to independently complete residential HVAC installations from start to finish.Strong knowledge of air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, mini-splits, ductwork, refrigeration, airflow, venting, and system commissioning.Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and jobsite problem-solving abilities.Ability to train and direct apprentices or installation helpers.Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and code compliance.Strong communication and customer service skills.EPA Universal Certification required.Applicable Virginia trade licenses or certifications preferred.Comfortable using tablets, mobile applications, and field service software.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Ability to perform physical work in attics, basements, crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor conditions.Why Work at Guy Smith Home Services?Hourly and piece-rate compensation—you receive whichever calculated amount is higherPerformance-based earning opportunitiesSteady, year-round installation demandStrong office, warehouse, and operational supportMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off and Paid HolidaysCompany-Provided VehicleCompany Phone or TabletUniforms ProvidedOngoing Paid Technical and Leadership TrainingCareer Advancement OpportunitiesThe opportunity to train and develop future HVAC professionalsA professional environment that values quality, accountability, and teamworkWhat Success Looks LikeSuccess in this role means taking ownership of each project, leading your installation team effectively, and completing clean, dependable work that performs as intended.
