Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Operating Room) provides direct perioperative care for surgical patients, supporting safe procedures from preparation through recovery. This role coordinates circulating duties in the operating room and assists with case readiness while maintaining clinical documentation in EPIC.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate circulating nurse duties throughout assigned surgical cases to support efficient workflow.
• Prepare sterile fields, supplies, and equipment to ensure readiness for procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, safety checks, and timely transfer in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Maintain aseptic technique and follow established infection control protocols.
• Document perioperative care and interventions in EPIC in accordance with facility standards.
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia, surgeons, and team members to support continuity of care and respond to changing needs.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and maintain required state licensure eligibility.
• Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of relevant OR experience, with preference for circulating experience.
• Apply clinical expertise across ortho (knees, hips, shoulders, ankles), podiatry, gyn, and general/laparoscopic procedures.
• Support sterile technique by scrubbing when needed, if applicable.
• Complete Nursys reporting within required timelines and maintain compliance with institutional requirements.
