Human Resources Technician II Under general supervision, this role performs a variety of technical and administrative support activities for human resources functions, including recruitment, benefits administration, special projects, record preparation, and studies and reports. Key responsibilities include: Maintain confidential personnel records and serve as the department’s Records Coordinator. Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other documents. Fax, copy, file, and organize all office files. Review and process reimbursements and payment request vouchers for completeness and policy compliance. Conduct research and compile information to support HR functions. Maintain departmental calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, and monitor the department’s budget. Reconcile credit card purchases and process temporary staffing requests and shift‑bid requests. Order and maintain an inventory of office supplies and coordinate facility and equipment service requests. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED supplemented by specialized training in human resources or a related field. Three (3) years of providing technical support to a human‑resources program or function. Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment processes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Proactive, self‑directed approach with strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities. Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn HR business systems such as Oracle JD Edwards, NEOGOV, and Cornerstone. Hiring Salary Range $48.96 – $53.97 per hour, based on qualifications. Physical Demands Standard office work including use of computer equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling drawer contents. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Vision, hearing, and speech required for communication. Finger dexterity for data entry and use of standard office equipment. Environmental Elements Office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature. Interaction with upset staff and/or public and private representatives regarding policies and procedures. Additional Requirements Probationary period as per OC San policies; at‑will status before successful completion. Pre‑employment process including background investigation, physical examination, and drug screen. Work location assignment may be at any OC San location and may change at any time. Designated Disaster Service Worker under California law; required to complete related training.
