Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to cardiac patients in a step-down unit, ensuring patient stability and recovery while monitoring vital signs and responding to clinical changes. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and develop individualized care plans for cardiac patients.
• Monitor vital signs, telemetry, and laboratory results to detect changes in patient status.
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments according to physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and lifestyle modifications.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, including code blue and rapid response calls.
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac step-down or telemetry unit.
• Have current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry, IV starts, and cardiac assessment skills.
• Be willing to float between facilities and units as needed.
• Exhibit strong critical thinking and communication skills.
