The HVAC Installer is responsible for the safe, accurate, and professional installation of residential and light commercial heating, cooling, ventilation, and indoor air quality systems. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship, ensuring system longevity, and delivering high-quality customer experience from start to finish. Lead installer is 100% responsible for all aspects of each installation from start to finish

Key Responsibilities:
System Installation
Confirms proper equipment (model, size and seer), all parts and reviews all paperwork prior to loading
Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, air handlers, and ductwork per manufacturer and company standards.
Complete full system change-outs, including removal and recycling of old equipment, prep work, installation, startup, cleanup
Ensure all work complies with local codes and safety regulations and aligns with installation instruction on each job
Perform and document start-up tests, system charging, airflow balancing. Tests and ensures proper system operation on all functions including proper drainage
Install indoor air quality accessories (e.g., humidifiers, UV lights, filtration systems).

Duct Fabrication
Measure, layout, and fabricate transitional ductwork based on jobsite conditions.
Create fittings to connect varying duct sizes, shapes, and orientations.
Use hand tools and shop equipment (brake, shear, roller, etc.) to cut, form, and assemble sheet metal.
Install duct transitions on-site with proper alignment and sealing.
Read blueprints, shop drawings, or CAD layouts as needed.
Ensure all fabricated pieces meet airflow, structural, and code requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and other installers for efficient workflow.

Jobsite Execution & Customer Interaction
Arrive on time, prepared with all necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
Reviews Installation manuals effectively to assure each install is compliant with manufacturers requirements
Maintain a clean and organized job site and fully stocked truck during and after installations.
Communicate courteously and professionally with homeowners and site contacts.
Explain installed systems and maintenance requirements to customers before job completion.

Team Collaboration & Reporting
Work alongside other Installers and train apprentices, or helpers as needed.
Communicate job progress, delays, additional needs or other issues to Manager promptly.
Document all work and testing performed using company software including photos, forms, and completion notes.
Continuing development by attending training classes, seminars both online or in person on or off site
Participate and contribute to daily morning huddle and monthly CST meeting, follow all SOP instructions.

Operational Benchmarks
Complete 1 full system install or multiple smaller service jobs per day depending on scope.
Arrive on site fully preparedon time, clean, and organized.
Ensure zero callbacks due to installation errors or incomplete work.
Capture job photos, notes, and required documentation on every job.
Clean up the job site to better-than-before condition before leaving.
Keep company vehicle mechanically maintained, stocked, clean, and inspection-ready daily.
Follow all safety and code compliance protocols without exception.

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly and safely.
Work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and other tight/hot spaces for extended periods.
Climb ladders and stairs, use power tools, lift heavy equipment, and handle refrigerant.
Stand, kneel, crouch, bend, and twist for extended periods.
Safely operate company vehicle and maintain a valid drivers license.

Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of HVAC installation experience (residential or light commercial).
EPA 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) + A2L
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety practices used in HVAC installation.
Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ductwork fabrication or modification.
Trade school graduate or HVAC technical certification.
Familiarity with IAQ systems, zoning, and smart thermostats.
Proficient in using installation software and digital forms (e.g., ServiceTitan).
