Events Marketing Manager
$120k - $130kSocket
Description Event Marketing Manager (Project Management Guru, Emperor of Events, Architect of Awesome Experiences) Do you have a knack for creating engaging experiences that capture attention and create impactful moments for attendees? Do you believe what you do before and after an event is just as critical as the event itself? Do you love seeing the impact your events have on revenue and the sales pipeline? Are you a stickler for staying within budget and prioritizing your resources? Do you love to travel and see places across the country? If so, keep reading... The Marketing team at RTA is looking for an Event Marketing Manager. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, this individual contributor will own the strategy, planning, execution, and performance of RTA's event and webinar programs. This person will help RTA grow through a well-executed event strategy that strengthens our brand presence, creates memorable experiences, elevates our thought leadership, and generates measurable business results. The right team member understands that planning and execution both matter. A beautiful event that does not produce results is not enough, and a great strategy that falls apart onsite is not enough either. You'll own the full event lifecycle - choosing the right opportunities, building the plan and budget, coordinating all the moving pieces, creating an exceptional attendee experience, capturing and handing off leads, and measuring what happened afterward. What We're Looking For Someone who: Feels at home as a member of a healthy team and is comfortable with accountability, candid collaboration, and constructive debate. Fully embraces team health and the principles behind eliminating the '5 Dysfunctions of a Team' (Patrick Lencioni). Will passionately care about our clients and the jobs they do. Our clients are government and trucking fleet managers, parts clerks, automotive technicians, and other fleet professionals who keep everything from squad cars and school buses to ambulances and public transportation safely moving. Confidently owns the Event Marketing Manager role while actively seeking collaboration and buy-in from others. Can pivot quickly when needed and maintain a positive attitude when the plan inevitably changes. Is willing to lift boxes, help with setup, clean floors, hold doors, or do whatever it takes to create a great experience. Thinks of themselves less, while not thinking less of themselves. Understands the power and impact of their words and actions. Constantly looks for more: more to learn, more to do, and more opportunity. Loves to read, learn, grow, and stretch themselves. Extra points if you've read Obviously Awesome, They Ask, You Answer, or anything from Seth Godin or Patrick Lencioni. Embraces AI as a tool to work smarter and move faster - using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar technology to improve research, planning, project management, content development, reporting, analysis, and everyday workflows while bringing the human judgment and creativity that make an experience memorable. Specifically for this job, someone who: Knows how to make a splash at trade shows and experiential events - and can show us examples of exceptional events they've personally managed and the results they produced. Has 5+ years of professional experience in event marketing, event management, or a related role. Has planned and hosted a larger-scale customer, industry, or company event or conference comparable in scope to RTA Connect. Can run a webinar end-to-end, from topic and speakers through registration, rehearsals, execution, and lead follow-up. Loves a good project plan and knows how to get multiple stakeholders moving in the same direction. Thrives in the meet-and-greet. Networking is almost a pastime. Gets creative about maximizing an event budget and is meticulous about tracking expenditures. Understands that events are not just about attendance - they are expected to contribute to pipeline, conversion, revenue, and ROI. Advocates for thought leadership and knows how to get the right people on stage. Has hands-on experience with Zoom, HubSpot, and Cvent. Is willing and able to travel approximately 40%, including occasional nights and weekends. Fleet or public-sector experience is not required. What matters is that you know how to create exceptional experiences, manage the details, and show us the results. Is all this dancing at your disco? Let's talk! Key Results Areas (aka the Job Outcomes) Elevate RTA's brand presence at events and ensure the brand is always represented to the highest standard. Generate and influence qualified pipeline through events. Increase RTA thought leadership through meaningful speaking engagements at industry events. Generate influenced pipeline through RTA's webinar program. Own a successful RTA Connect Conference, including attendance goals, attendee experience, and CSAT. Detailed Responsibilities Own the strategy, planning, budget, execution, and performance of RTA's event portfolio. Lead the planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, webinars, advisory board meetings, association meetings, customer dinners and entertainment, Roadshows, RTA Connect, and other event experiences. Fully own RTA Connect from strategy through execution and results, with support from the Marketing team and other RTA staff. Coordinate approximately 20-30 trade shows per year. Attend approximately 10-12 events with a booth presence, 3-4 Roadshows, and the annual RTA Connect Conference. Cultivate memorable experiences for prospects, customers, partners, and anyone interacting with the RTA brand. Serve as team lead at each event to ensure the booth is set up correctly, the brand is represented well, and the team is prepared to perform. Help gather leads and confidently speak to RTA's company positioning and product functionality with booth visitors. Select and coordinate the best pre-event, onsite, and post-event marketing options to help us meet our objectives within budget. Own how we capture lead information at shows and ensure accurate, timely handoff and follow-up. Keep track of and maintain inventory of event assets and SWAG. Coordinate personnel, booth, SWAG, vendor, shipping, and other logistics for each event. Partner with Marketing and Sales to execute RTA's Account Based Marketing strategy, prioritizing target accounts and creating personalized experiences that help move them toward the next milestone in their buying journey. Partner with SDR and Sales teams to ensure follow-up SLAs are met and that those teams have the information and tools they need to successfully follow up with event leads. Assess and recommend solutions to gaps in how our brand or products are presented at events. Own the strategy and execution of RTA's webinar program, working with the Marketing team to set content topics, schedules, and strategy for each webinar. Source and prep RTA speakers and subject matter experts for webinars and event speaking opportunities. Set up and manage Zoom webinar experiences and coordinate practice runs with speakers. Partner with Demand Generation to hit webinar registration goals. Host and execute webinars, then hand leads to the SDR team for timely follow-up. Report monthly and quarterly on event and webinar performance, including leads generated, pipeline created and influenced, conversion rates, closed-won ARR, pipeline return on spend, and ROI. Feeling confident that this is in your playlist? Let's put that to the test! Qualifications & Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in event marketing, event management, or a related role. Demonstrated success owning trade shows and experiential events from planning through onsite execution and post-event follow-up. Demonstrated experience owning webinars end-to-end. Experience planning and hosting a larger-scale customer, industry, or company event or conference. Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, vendors, budgets, timelines, and events at once. Hands-on experience with Zoom, HubSpot, and Cvent. Strong analytical skills and comfort connecting event performance to pipeline, conversion, revenue, return on spend, and ROI. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, including confidence engaging prospects, customers, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability to travel approximately 40%, including occasional nights and weekends. No degree requirement; relevant experience and demonstrated capability matter most. The Bottom Line You've made it this far, so congratulations! We're looking for someone who can dream up an experience, build the plan, rally the team, execute the details, work the room, measure the results - and probably find the missing SWAG box five minutes before the doors open. If building experiences people remember and proving they made an impact sounds like your kind of work, we want to talk. This is a full-time, fully remote-eligible role for candidates located in the United States. Candidates located in the Pacific, Mountain, or Central time zones are preferred. Occasional visits to RTA HQ in Glendale, Arizona for team meetings and events should be expected.
