### Join Our Team as a NICU Registered Nurse!

Job Description:


- Shift: 12 Hours, Day Shift
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required; will consider busy Level 3 experience.
- Travel Experience: Previous travel experience preferred.
- Location Rule: 50-mile radius rule; driver's license is the source of truth.


Key Responsibilities:


- Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion (pass/fail).
- Expectation: Competence in sterile field maintenance is crucial.
- Training includes skills such as lifts, restraints, and wound care, with orientation tailored to the facility.


- Unit Details:
- NICU Unit Level: 4
- Capacity: 71 beds (including 17 stepdown)
- Staff Ratio:
- 1:2 for ICU patients
- 1:3 for Level 2 patients
- Charge Nurse Available: Yes (no patient assignment)
- Nurse Aides: 1 Patient Care Technician per shift


Certifications Required:


- BLS
- NRP
- Cardiac STABLE (a plus)


Schedule Requirements:


- Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts over 4 weeks (Saturdays and Sundays).
- Holidays: Based on unit coverage.
- Shift Timing: 7 AM to 7 PM.


Additional Information:


- Common Diagnoses: Premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling.
- Orientation: 2-3 days on the floor.
- Equipment:
- EMR System: Cerner
- Telemetry: Phillips
- Ventilators: Managed by RT
- Pharmacy: NICU pharmacy available 24/7 during the day.
- Team: Neonatologist and mid-levels available in-house 24/7; Respiratory Therapy on-site 24/7.
- Floating Requirements: May cover mother-baby, focusing only on the babies.

Cancellation Policy:


- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for assignments under 13 weeks.
