Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Emergency Department Level 1 RN is a Registered Nurse who provides care to a diverse population of patients with perceived or actual physical/emotional alterations in health that are undiagnosed or require further intervention. Emphasis at this level is on learning and performing entry‑level nursing skills for patients who require episodic, primary, or acute care. Required Qualifications Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer‑service skills appropriate to the job Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System Current California Registered Nurse license AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Non‑violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification within 90 days of hire All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Two years experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of university and medical‑center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Membership in a professional organization Total Rewards We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
