Senior Operations Manager

Port Jersey Logistics Network is looking for an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day execution of a high-volume, dedicated customer operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows that strong operations aren't built from behind a desk. We're looking for a leader who is visible on the floor, develops strong teams, uses data to make decisions, and knows how to turn operational goals into consistent results.

You'll work closely with the Site Manager while taking ownership of daily execution, process improvement, labor efficiency, team development, inventory accuracy, and service performance.

What You'll Do

• Lead the daily execution of warehouse operations across receiving, inventory control, picking, QA, and outbound shipping
• Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor to monitor workflow, identify challenges, and keep operations moving
• Turn operational goals into clear SOPs, daily labor plans, and shift-level expectations
• Drive accountability and consistent execution across departments and shifts
• Coach and develop Assistant Operations Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads
• Establish clear performance expectations and create development plans for your leadership team
• Monitor daily throughput, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer service levels
• Partner with the Site Manager to identify operational risks and provide data and floor-level insight to support decision-making
• Use root-cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring operational issues
• Balance labor across departments to meet volume demands while managing overtime
• Track operational KPIs such as UPH, dock-to-stock, case throughput, order accuracy, and OTIF
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and facility layout
• Partner across departments to create a more efficient, connected, and predictable operation
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and overall floor conditions

What We're Looking For

• 5–8+ years of progressive leadership experience in high-volume warehousing, distribution, or contract logistics
• Proven experience leading managers and supervisors , not just individual contributors
• Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, picking, shipping, and warehouse operations
• A hands-on, floor-first leadership style
• Strong experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), labor management tools, and operational data
• Ability to use KPIs and operational trends to identify problems and drive improvements
• Experience with labor planning, productivity management, and resource allocation
• Strong root-cause problem-solving and continuous improvement skills
• Ability to coach leaders, set clear expectations, and drive accountability
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both senior leadership and front-line teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused operation
