Aventine Properties LLC is a top property tax grievance consulting firm in NY State. We’re looking for a Tax Grievance Case Advocates to manage cases from intake through resolution. You’ll be the person who moves files forward, communicates with clients, prepares evidence, and represents reductions through the BAR and SCAR process. Strong negotiation instincts and follow-through are what make someone successful in this seat. We are looking for a reliable and motivated part-time office assistant for a great opportunity in our Huntington Station office. The ideal applicant must: be able to maintain M-F 9AM-5PM hours, have a positive attitude and be a go-getter.

What You’ll Do

•       Manage a caseload of residential grievance files from filing through settlement
•       Prepare and submit RP-524 / assessment-review paperwork accurately and on deadline
•       Research comparable sales and build the evidence package for each case
•       Negotiate assessment reductions with county review bodies (ARC, BAR) and at SCAR
•       Communicate clearly and promptly with homeowners throughout the ~12–18 month process
•       Track filing windows and deadlines across multiple towns and counties

What We’re Looking For

•       Strong negotiation and persuasion skills — comfortable advocating for a number and holding the line based on accurate valuations
•       Excellent organization and attention to deadlines (filing windows are strict and unforgiving)
•       Clear, professional written and verbal communication
•       Self-directed; reliable; able to manage many files at once without dropping details
•       Prior experience in tax grievance, real estate, title, paralegal, claims, or case management is a plus
•       Real Estate Valuation Experience in any of these counties: Suffolk, Westchester, Nassau, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, Greene, Delaware)

•       Familiarity with assessment processes a strong plus
