Our mission

Restored Life Counseling provides affordable, quality, distinctively Christian mental health care to the Phoenix metro. Each of those three words is a commitment, and each one costs something.

Affordable. We take insurance, and we keep a sliding-scale and scholarship lane, so that cost is not the reason someone goes without care.

Quality. We measure outcomes rather than assume them. Supervision here is real supervision, and documentation is written to a standard that survives review. We pursue specialty certification from the bodies that set the standard in their fields (IITAP, EMDRIA, ICEEFT), so that a clinician's judgment is supported by more than their own accumulated experience.

Distinctively Christian. Not a label applied to otherwise ordinary care, but a clinical model that proceeds from a Christian understanding of what a person is, what has gone wrong, and what healing means. Our faith is the fuel for our service, not a prerequisite for anyone's care. We serve every client, inside the faith and outside it, with the same excellence and the same respect.

Where this is going

Affordable care that rests on goodwill is fragile. It lasts exactly as long as the donations do. So we are building four things that feed each other, and the point of building them is to put affordability on something sturdier than a fundraising cycle.

Care at scale. Enough clinicians, credentialed with enough payers, that someone who needs help can be seen in days rather than months, and that the sliding scale is a real door rather than a short waiting list.

Research. A practice that produces findings rather than only consuming them. Clinical work raises the questions; research answers them in a form other clinicians can act on.

Professional training. Training that carries a credential, so that the clinician who finishes it can demonstrate a competence rather than claim an interest, and where the standard is set high enough that the credential means something to people outside this practice.

Publishing for ordinary people. Resources for the person who will never sit in a therapist's office, written plainly, in language they already speak, about the things that are actually wrong.

These are not four items on a list. Each one feeds the next. Clinical work generates the questions. Research answers them. Training turns answers into competence other clinicians can acquire. Publishing puts them into ordinary hands. The clinicians that training reaches and the readers that publishing reaches come back through the front door as colleagues and as clients. And the revenue from the middle three is what holds the first one's price down.

Christian fidelity runs through all four. A secular organization could build every one of these, and several have. What makes this one different is that the clinical model, the research questions, the training curriculum and the published resources all proceed from the same convictions, and are held to them when it would be easier not to be.

Most of that is not built yet. Today this is a clinical job. Your pay is what the compensation section describes and nothing else. Nothing in this section is a promise of additional income, now or later. It is here because you should know what you would be joining, and because the people we want are the ones who find it worth building.

This is a role for a Christian clinician

You must be able to affirm and work within our statement of faith. That is a requirement of this position, not a preference, and it carries through to the annual pastoral and spousal references described under References and annual standing below. Read that section before you apply.

The position

We are hiring an Arizona associate-level clinician (LAC, LAMFT or LMSW) to carry a clinical caseload under supervision while working toward independent licensure.

This is a supervised role, and that is the point of it. You will see real clients, in person and by telehealth, and you will do it inside a structure built to keep the work safe and to make these years count toward the license you are working for.

How supervision works

You practice under a clinical supervisor assigned by the practice.

• Your supervisor carries directive clinical authority over your cases. When your supervisor says a case needs to change direction, be transferred, or be escalated, that is a decision, not a suggestion.
• Your supervisor reviews and co-signs your documentation.
• Supervision is scheduled and protected time , not something squeezed into the gaps of a full day.

That structure exists to protect you and to get your hours counted. A hard case is carried by two clinicians rather than one, and your supervision is recorded by the practice as it happens instead of being reconstructed years later when you sit down to apply.

What you will do

• Carry a caseload of individual, couples and family clients, in person and by telehealth.
• Complete documentation within the practice's timeliness standard and bring it to your supervisor for review.
• Bring cases forward before they are in trouble, not after.
• Participate in case consultation.
• Practice within your license and your scope. You are accountable for knowing that standard and practicing it.
• Keep your Arizona licensure current and unrestricted, and give the practice advance notice of your renewal dates.

Your first weeks

Your caseload is built, not handed to you, and it takes time after your start date: documentation setup, onboarding with your supervisor, and the referrals that fill a schedule. Your calendar will not be full of sessions during that period. It will include non-clinical work: intake and scheduling support, program and referral materials, and preparation for the caseload you are about to carry. Those hours are paid at your hourly rate like every other hour.

Which clients you can be assigned depends on how each one pays for care. We will tell you what that means for your caseload before you accept, because it shapes how quickly your schedule fills.

Hours and schedule

Hours are scheduled to the caseload that exists, and they grow as it grows. Full-time here means a full schedule, not a guaranteed 40 hours a week. You are paid for every hour you actually work.

Compensation

Clinical supervision toward independent licensure

The practice provides your clinical supervision and documents it, at no cost to you. You do not pay an outside supervisor, and nothing is deducted from your pay for it. The supervision we provide meets Arizona's requirements for hours toward independent licensure, and it is documented in a form that will survive Board review.

The time you spend in supervision is paid time. You are not staying late to make up the hours you spent being supervised.

Hourly pay

• $26.00 per hour , W-2, paid every two weeks, non-exempt, for every hour you work : sessions, documentation, supervision, consultation and non-clinical time alike. Overtime at time and a half over 40 hours in a week.

There are no benefits : no health insurance, no retirement plan, no paid vacation. You receive what Arizona law provides: earned paid sick time , accrued at one hour for every 30 hours worked, and workers' compensation coverage .

Required qualifications

• Current, active and unrestricted Arizona licensure at the associate level (LAC, LAMFT or LMSW) , issued by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. License-eligible applicants may apply, but the license must be in hand before you see clients here.
• Willingness to be supervised : to take direction on clinical decisions and to work inside another clinician's judgment while you build your own.
• Willingness to document to a standard that will survive Board review.
• Able to work in person in the Phoenix metro. Telehealth is part of the practice; this is not a fully remote position.
• Able to affirm and work within the practice's Christian statement of faith.

References and annual standing

These are continuing conditions of the role, not a one-time hiring screen. Each is refreshed annually for as long as you hold the position.

• An annual pastoral reference , from a pastor, elder, or spiritual leader who knows you well enough to speak to your character rather than your résumé.
• An annual spousal reference. One who would care for others must first manage his or her own household well (1 Timothy 3:4–5). That is a qualification for clinical work here: the people who sit down across from you are handing you their marriages and their families, and the household you go home to is part of your standing to receive that. If you are not married, name instead the person who knows your household life best and is willing to speak to it.

Preferred

• Practicum or internship experience in an outpatient practice.
• Experience with insurance-based care and comfort with the pace it sets.
• Experience in a nonprofit setting.
• A clinical direction you want to develop (couples and family work, trauma, addiction), and the intention to pursue training in it.

Working conditions

• Mixed in-person and telehealth. In-person work is in the Glendale / North Phoenix area.
• Scheduling is collaborative. Supervision time is scheduled and protected.
• The practice uses TherapyNotes for documentation and scheduling.
