Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Orthopedic Trauma – South Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: South Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week contract, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend required, 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• Work in a Level I Trauma Center specializing in orthopedic trauma and medical-surgical overflow
• Manage complex trauma cases including MVC, GSW, falls, and assault-related injuries with average 3-5 day patient stays
• Gain experience with drains (JP, hemovac, wound vac), chest tubes, PCA pumps, and continuous pulse oximetry
• 1 year of Epic EMR experience required; comprehensive orientation and paid pre-assignment modules (up to 16 hours)
• Must be proficient in MS/Telemetry as floating to MS/Tele units may be required based on census needs
• EKG exam required; certification testing provided

Requirements:

• Active South Carolina or multistate compact RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Ortho experience; 2 years required for first-time travelers
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 1 year of Epic charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry and cardiac monitoring; must pass facility EKG exam
• Proficiency in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line management, PICC lines, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, peripheral nerve block catheters, and spinal cord injuries
• Competency in chest tube management, respiratory support, feeding tube care, and colostomy management
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications
• Trauma Level I experience preferred; 1:5 patient ratio experience required
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Must reside 100+ miles from facility (some exceptions may apply)
