We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Front Desk / Cross-Trained Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team in NW Washington, DC . This role is primarily front desk , with hygiene assisting responsibilities on Fridays .

The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and experienced in dental front office operations , while also being flexible and comfortable supporting the clinical team when needed.

Important: Candidates must hold a valid Dental Assistant license in Washington, DC.

Schedule

• Monday

• Wednesday

• Thursday 

• Friday ( Hygiene Assistant – Back Office )

• One Saturday per month

Responsibilities

Front Desk responsibilities include:

• Greeting and checking patients in and out

• Scheduling appointments and managing the daily schedule

• Verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining benefit breakdowns

• Working with PPO insurance plans

• Collecting patient co-payments and balances

• Creating, reviewing, and presenting treatment plans

• Submitting and tracking insurance claims

• Running and following up on outstanding insurance claims

• Managing aspects of Revenue Cycle Management

• Maximizing patient insurance benefits and financial coordination

• Maintaining accurate patient records

Clinical support responsibilities (Fridays):

• Assisting the hygienist with patient care

• Preparing and turning over treatment rooms

• Maintaining sterilization and infection control protocols

• Supporting overall clinical workflow

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant License in Washington, DC (Required)

• Minimum 1 year of dental front desk experience

• Experience with PPO insurance verification and breakdowns

• Knowledge of dental insurance billing and claims

• Strong understanding of dental office revenue cycle processes

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
