Payroll SpecialistThe Payroll Specialist ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role supports employees and internal teams by managing payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely reporting and payments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with payroll processing for biweekly payroll cycleEnsure proper calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductionsCoordinate and process miscellaneous off-cycle payrolls, including final paychecks and severance paymentsHandle payroll adjustments, including retro pay and correctionsEnsure compliance with applicable laws and company policiesManage garnishments, and benefit deductionsPrepare and distribute payroll reports to leadership and accountingRespond to employees and external inquiries in a timely and professional mannerProvide excellent customer service when communicating with employeesStay current on payroll regulations, industry trends, and best practicesAssist management with special projects and process improvements as neededSupport year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and auditsQualifications2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environmentWorking knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Paychex, or similar HRIS platforms)Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulationsStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracyExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlinesEffective communication and customer service skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
