CNC Machinist

Job Title: CNC Machinist Location: Simsbury, CT Reporting to: Machine Shop Supervisor Company: Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) – a global leader of mission‑critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. Equipment Haas UMC-750 CNC 5-Axis Mill Hardinge Bridgeport V480 3 axis mill TRAK TMC7 mill ST-25Y CNC Turret Lathe Okuma L2000e 2 axis lathe Babin TML-5C Manual Lathe Bridgeport Manual 3-Axis Mill Responsibilities Complete tool, fixture, and material setup on CNC mill and lathe. Run first‑piece article ready for inspection. Verify parts using precision measuring equipment. Change tools and offsets based on cutting conditions. Use proper methodology and cutting tools to produce quality parts that adhere to production and quality standards. Use proper feed, speed, and other cutting parameters based on workpiece materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, etc. Perform other similar or related duties as required. Requirements Must have experience running 5‑axis machinery. Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC operation with setup experience. General knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum high school education or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with others effectively in written and verbal fashion. Must be able to meet all ITAR and BATFE background requirements.
