Northern Michigan Surgical Suites is a beautiful, state-of-the-art, multi-specialty center outpatient surgical center. It is designed to give patients, friends and family a relaxing experience before, during and after the procedure. Northern Michigan Surgical Suites also provides a high ratio of medical staff to patients in order to provide the highest quality experience and attentive care.The Pre-Admission has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, JC, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. The Pre-Admission may assume the following responsibilities: contact, by way of telephone, all patients prior to surgery to assess medical and medication history, review for appropriate lab, x-ray, EKG orders to determine where and when these procedures are to completed and provide preadmission teaching, responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety comfort, and privacy at all times.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited RN School of NursingActive RN license in the stateBLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center2 years of experience in Pre Admission and/or PreOp preferredAbility to make decisions based on nursing judgmentAble to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unitStrong communication skills, verbal and writtenBenefitsMedical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurancePaid time off (vacation & sick leave) – Starting PTO accrual is 15 days per year.401k retirement planPaid holidaysHealth savings accounts, healthcare & dependent flexible spending accountsEmployee Assistance program, Employee discount programVoluntary benefits include pet insurance, legal insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, long term care, elder & childcare, AD&D, auto & home insurance.At USPI, we create relationships that create better care.
