As a Plant Mechanic in our 24/7 facility, you’ll join a close-knit team with tremendous growth opportunities. Shift schedule: Sunday through Thursday, working 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Enjoy an 18% night shift differential! $5,000 sign-on bonus is available. Position Summary This position provides basic to intermediate operator and mechanical skills in the proper operation and repair of all plant equipment. The user is also responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of plant and facilities equipment, monitoring and documenting performance through routine inspection using appropriate instrumentation and computers. Core Functions Operate and assist in the proper maintenance and repairs of power plant, facility utilities equipment and systems. Maintain and repair steam/hot water boilers, centrifugal/reciprocating chillers, and cooling towers. Maintain all pumped systems including chilled water, condensate water, domestic hot and cold water, heating hot water, condensate, sewage ejector, medical air, vacuum, mechanical air, and fuel oil. Perform and maintain plant water treatment programs. Assist in the operation of the emergency generator system, fire monitoring and control systems. Participate in energy management/conservation programs. Perform preventative maintenance duties on plant equipment and machinery. Maintain a detailed log on all required facility equipment, record all shift activity. Respond to assigned general maintenance calls and emergency calls as required; assist as a member of the Fire Response Team. Cleans assigned work area and maintains tools, storage and assigned areas in an orderly manner; assist in other areas of Facilities services as required. Drive company vehicles to transport equipment and contract maintenance personnel as assigned. Work independently under general supervision, fulfilling responsibilities using specialized skills and knowledge. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma/GED or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience as a Plant Mechanic. Working knowledge of utility and infrastructure systems and components common to the healthcare environment. Ability to exercise independent decision making and judgment in the performance of all duties. Current Boiler Operator’s License if required by the state of employment, or applicable authorities having jurisdiction. Proficient in reading and understanding related maintenance and construction documents. Valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with plant computer software programs. For employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital: possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and retention for the duration of employment. Requirement to sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge and certification as required of applicable regulatory codes, including IBC, UBC, Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, and state and local building codes.
