Details Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit Patient ratio of 1:5 Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a Every other weekend required Rare on-call requirement, limited to first 4 hours if called Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities if needed Epic EMR used for charting Requirements Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license BLS and ACLS certifications required, NIHSS preferred 2 years of MS/Tele experience required Epic charting experience required Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and port access Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen administration Skills in wound care, pacemaker management, and pre/post cardiac cath care Driver's license and SSN required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring and emergency response Manage patients with cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary/renal needs, including CBI and pre/post hemodialysis care Support patients undergoing cardiac procedures such as pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed Royal blue scrubs required Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period First-time travelers may be considered Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard traveler consideration All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval Staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September) American Traveler Job ID P-750979.
