A restaurant in the heart of Blowing Rock, North Carolina, is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership and management. With a renewed focus on exceptional hospitality, elevated service standards, and a chef-driven culinary experience, we're building a team dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and hospitality-driven Restaurant General Manager to lead restaurant operations, develop a high-performing service team, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

This hands-on leadership position is responsible for front-of-house operations, service standards, team development, financial performance, and creating a culture of hospitality excellence. The ideal candidate combines strong operational and financial expertise with a genuine passion for hospitality, culinary excellence, and developing others.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience

• Lead daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional service, efficient execution, and a consistently memorable guest experience.
• Establish and maintain high standards for hospitality, service, cleanliness, presentation, and restaurant atmosphere.
• Oversee reservations, seating strategies, dining room pacing, and overall service flow.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence, engaging with guests and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
• Oversee restaurant systems, procedures, special events, and service standards to support operational excellence.

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing front-of-house team.
• Foster a positive culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Lead pre-shift meetings, ongoing training, and performance management.
• Establish clear expectations, recognize strong performance, and develop future leaders.
• Collaborate closely with culinary leadership to ensure seamless service and a unified restaurant team.

Financial Management & Business Performance

• Manage labor costs, operating expenses, purchasing, inventory, and financial performance within established budgets.
• Monitor revenue, cost of goods, productivity, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and operational planning.
• Oversee beverage programs, vendor relationships, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable alcohol regulations, health codes, employment requirements, and safety standards.

Food, Beverage & Service Excellence

• Partner with culinary leadership to align service standards with the restaurant's culinary vision.
• Support menu development, beverage offerings, tastings, and seasonal programming.
• Develop team knowledge of food, wine, spirits, ingredients, and service techniques.
• Ensure consistent execution of restaurant standards, including presentation, guest recognition, and attention to detail.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3–5 years of restaurant management experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Experience in upscale dining, fine dining, chef-driven restaurants, or luxury hospitality strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, wine and spirits, and restaurant service standards.
• Experience managing budgets, labor costs, inventories, purchasing, and financial performance.
• Proficiency with POS, reservation, scheduling, and financial reporting systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
