Sr. Director Finance - Pharmacy Automation

Job Description The Sr. Director of Finance, Global Pharmacy Automation is a leadership role within BD MMS reporting to the VP of Finance for the MMS business. This leader serves as a finance business partner to the Global Pharmacy Automation President and oversees all finance activities for the $0.6B business, providing sound financial guidance, planning, reporting, analysis, and support for new product development and third‑party agreements. Duties and Responsibilities Key advisor and business partner to BU President and BU leadership team. Lead development of the 3‑year strategic plan (ASR), annual budget, quarterly forecast, and improve underlying financial models. Contribute to formulation and implementation of Global Pharmacy Automation strategies and critical objectives, ensuring alignment with short‑ and long‑term business goals. Provide proactive financial input on performance, insights, and recommendations that drive effective business decisions. Support new business development including acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and product development to ensure sound financial sense. Work with the Global Pharmacy Automation President to establish key performance metrics and publish regular reporting to track results against goals/KPIs. Present, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data to Pharmacy Automation Lead Team. Participate in the S&OP process to align demand, supply, and financial projections. Lead Finance and Accounting teams, championing process, people, and system changes as needed. Knowledge and Skills 15+ years progressive experience in Financial Planning, Business Analytics, Controller, or related roles. Demonstrated ability to form, lead, and develop a Finance team. Strong knowledge of GAAP, finance principles, and internal controls. Ability to work with all levels of management. Strong communication and presentation skills. Excellent financial modelling and project management skills. Continuous improvement mindset. Humility combined with leadership courage. Effective cross‑functional collaboration to meet deliverables on time. Ability to prioritize tasks and exercise judgment in a high‑stakes environment. Education and Qualification Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting plus an MBA or CPA certification. 15+ years of relevant accounting and financial analysis experience within a multinational business; prior healthcare industry experience is a plus. Strong system/application skills: SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BPC. Candidate willing to travel up to 25%. Located in or within driving distance of Durham, NC, to enable 4 days in the office.
