Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

Title and Reporting Electrical & Instrumentation Technician – Reports to Technical Leads Controls Shift and Location Night Shift 6:00pm-6:30am; McCalla, Alabama Compensation Base rate: $32–$42 per hour (based on prior experience). Night shift differential of $2.00 per hour is not included in the pay range. Responsibilities Operate, maintain and clean production equipment, following GMP and documentation standards. Perform equipment changeovers, sanitation activities, and preventative maintenance actions. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation equipment and software. Use Studio5000 or Logix5000, Drives and Motion Control, FactoryTalk ME & SE, Ethernet/IP Control Network, Power Distribution systems. Coach team members on equipment operation, defect identification, and repair techniques. Lead projects to improve safety, quality, or production results within assigned area. Maintain accurate electronic database of repair and maintenance activities, parts usage and time tracking. Facilitate shift passdowns, discussing safety, quality, and production issues with prior/next shift. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with electrical systems, PLC, motor and motion controls, SCADA, sensors, and instrumentation in manufacturing. Knowledge of food manufacturing safety and GMP practices. Ability to read, write, and interpret safety rules, GMPs and general instructions. Good verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy; ability to use email and maintenance enterprise systems. Physical ability to work 12‑hour shifts, lift up to 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform repetitive tasks.
