American Sign Language Interpreter - Delano Preschool Location: Delano Community Education Hours: Part‑Time 2‑4 days a week, 3.5 hours/day (8:15 AM to 11:45 AM) Salary and Benefits: $25.00‑$35.00 per hour based on interpreter qualifications and experience Essential Duties Interpret Classroom Communication – Provide real‑time ASL interpretation of spoken language, classroom instructions, and peer interactions to ensure the student has full access to communication. Facilitate Social Interaction – Support the student’s ability to engage with peers by interpreting during playtime, group activities, and classroom discussions. Adapt Communication to Developmental Level – Modify signing style and vocabulary to match the preschool student’s language development and comprehension level. Collaborate with the Educational Team – Work closely with teachers, speech‑language pathologists, and other support staff to reinforce learning goals and ensure consistency in communication strategies. Support Language Development – Reinforce early language skills by modeling appropriate ASL use and encouraging the student’s expressive and receptive communication. Ensure Inclusion in Activities – Interpret and facilitate participation in music, movement, art, and other sensory‑based activities while maintaining accessibility for the student. Maintain Confidentiality and Professionalism – Adhere to ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards in educational interpreting.
