Performs welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys. Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

- Must have applicable experience working in a Shipyard within the past 3 years.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience; Apprentice graduate/ Associate's Degree in relevant discipline and 3 years of related experience. May require certification.

Testing
- 1 inch thick double bevel pulse test
- ¾ inch thick spray test with backing strip
- ¾ inch thick ceramic backing T joint
- 1 inch thick ceramic backing pulse test
- UT Test both plates 1 inch thick T joint with multiple stop and starts
