Job Opportunity – Operating Room Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day shift with late shift coverage required (6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Call coverage required. Must be available to float to other units within the organization as needed.

Highlights:

• Multi-specialty surgical environment supporting diverse case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, urology, bariatrics, and plastics
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• 6 operating rooms with daily census of 23-28 cases serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• 40 hours of orientation provided to ensure successful integration into the surgical team
• Holiday scheduling: travelers will work either Thanksgiving or Christmas based on organizational needs; no time off requests approved November 22-28 or December 20-26
• Extended assignment opportunity with potential for contract extension based on performance and organizational needs

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact license or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Strong competency in scrubbing for multiple surgical specialties including bariatric, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, and urology
• Experience with laparoscopic procedures, laser safety, malignant hyperthermia protocols, and conscious sedation monitoring
• Proficiency in administering blood products, starting peripheral IVs, cardiac monitoring, and specimen handling
• 2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract acceptance (strict compliance deadline applies)
• Former employees eligible only if away from facility for 6+ months; current employees ineligible
